LEGEND

A story of two Maya brothers named Kinich and Tizic explains that Kinich’s kindness was, without a doubt, the reason why all people used to admire him; on the other hand, Tizic was arrogant and known to have a heart of flint. They both met Nicte-ha, a beautiful Mayan muse who stole their hearts.

The brothers courted her and asked her to choose one of them. Nicte-ha, unable to make a decision, provoked a quarrel that ended with the fatal deaths of the two brothers. She was devastated until she finally died alone and heartbroken. After her death, the brothers reached Xibalbá (the Maya underworld) and fought against the gods, who eventually sent their spirits back to earth to seek balance and the natural order of life.

Tizic was reincarnated as Chechen just as Kinich was reincarnated as Chaca, the former is a tree that can be toxic to whoever touches it and the latter is the antidote, you can usually find them near each other. The gods were kind to Nicte-ha as she was able to reincarnate as a beautiful floating flower.
