NUUP MEANING

Nuup in Mayan language means union or connection, reinterpreting the relationship between nature and man. Starting from the desired interaction between the users that inhabit the project and the building to be located, together with the existing native vegetation of the place and the new one to be located. MATERIALS

• Nuup Tulum uses materials and finishes from the region, proposed in natural tones to mimic the context through finishes such as chukum in exteriors and interiors, natural stone in adjacent walls as a contrast between the polished finishes and the roughness of the stones.

• For the interior floors, travertine and cumaru wood planks were used for the showers and stone, wood deck and garden for the exterior to highlight the natural rustic look of the Mayan jungle and a natural and warm environment for the interiors. Use of parota wood for furniture and doors and gates in matte black to highlight the light elements of the building.

• The implementation of native vegetation on all levels through planters generates the privatization of spaces as well as attractive visuals that give way to a more direct integration between nature and the user who will inhabit the project.
