The Mexican Independence Day in Merida<\/strong>\u00a0are a special occasion to commemorate the 216th anniversary<\/strong> of Mexico’s Independence. The city dresses up for the occasion with civic events, solemn ceremonies, and concerts in the heart of the Historic Center<\/strong>. With the participation of civil and military authorities, the Yucatecan community gathers to celebrate one of the most significant moments in its history.<\/p>\n

One of the most anticipated events is the Noche del Grito (Night of the Shout of Independence)<\/strong>, which will take place in the Plaza Grande<\/strong>, with the official ceremony led by the Governor of the State of Yucat\u00e1n, Joaqu\u00edn “Huacho” D\u00edaz Mena<\/strong>, from the main balcony of the Government Palace (Palacio de Gobierno)<\/strong>. The night will culminate with a musical performance by La Adictiva<\/strong>, one of the most popular Sinaloan groups in the regional Mexican genre, who will have thousands of families singing and dancing to their biggest hits.<\/p>\n
